If the insulation beneath the membrane is already saturated, simply adding a reflective surface may hide the real issue. The roof may look cleaner and brighter, but trapped moisture can continue damaging the assembly underneath.

That is why diagnosis matters.

Before choosing a coating, restoration system, membrane, or replacement option, the existing roof should be evaluated for moisture, insulation condition, drainage, seams, penetrations, and structural concerns.
